This class, based on Google's 8 roles of effective managers, helps managers consider their performance, where they're doing well and not so well. Participants reflect on positive and negative managerial habits, and define specific practices they can start implementing at work immediately.
- Reflect on your performance as a manager as well as experience being managed
- Understand the 8 roles of top managers
- Define specific practices to start doing, as well as practices to stop doing.
This session is based on research conducted by Google to determine the qualities and practices of top managers. The 8 roles were first described in Lazlo Bock's best-selling "Work Rules".
"Our best managers have teams that perform better, are retained better, are happier — they do everything better. So the biggest controllable factor that we could see was the quality of the manager, and how they sort of made things happen. The question we then asked was: What if every manager was that good?”
